YoloDeck Review

Unboxing and Setup

The YoloDeck comes with the controller itself, which has 15 tactile buttons and a USB-C port, a stand with adjustable heights, and a 2-meter USB-C to USB-A cable. Setup was a breeze – simply plug the USB-C end into the YoloDeck and the USB-A end into your YoloBox. Once the buttons light up, you’re ready to take control of your stream.

Customizable Buttons: Your Stream, Your Way

One of the standout features of the YoloDeck is the ability to customize the buttons. You can assign specific functions to each button, such as switching between video sources, activating overlays, starting/stopping recordings, and more. This level of customization means you can tailor the YoloDeck to perfectly match your unique streaming style and needs.

To customize the buttons, head to the YoloBox Settings and select “YoloDeck configuration.” From there, you can drag and drop functions onto the buttons or delete them altogether. You can even create multiple pages of buttons if 15 isn’t enough for you.

Live Stream Control at Your Fingertips

During my live stream test, I was impressed by how much easier the YoloDeck made everything. Switching between sources, adding overlays, and even managing comments felt incredibly intuitive and efficient. I particularly loved the “Replay Start” and “Replay Stop” functions, which I assigned to two of the buttons.

One of my favorite features is the ability to control a PDF slide presentation directly from the YoloDeck. The “PDF Next Page” and “PDF Last Page” buttons are a lifesaver if you frequently use slides during your streams.

The YoloDeck also proved to be a total advantage for sports live streams. I was able to easily bring up and control the scoreboard with just a few button presses.

Room for Improvement

While I was thoroughly impressed with the YoloDeck, there are a few areas where I think it could be even better. For example, I would love to be able to adjust the audio directly from the YoloDeck, as well as have more control over overlays. Additionally, it would be helpful to see thumbnails of the sources and overlays on the buttons.

Final Thoughts

The YoloDeck is a fantastic tool for any live streamer who uses YoloBox. Its customizable buttons, intuitive interface, and ability to streamline your workflow make it a must-have accessory. While there’s still room for improvement, the YoloDeck is already an incredibly powerful and useful tool.

If you’re looking for a way to take your live streams to the next level, I highly recommend checking out the YoloDeck. Trust me, you won’t be disappointed.
