So, imagine you’re live on YouTube, juggling multiple cameras, your laptop screen, and maybe even your phone. You’re switching between them like a pro, creating an awesome show. But what if you miss a crucial moment during that switch? Enter ISO recording! ✨

Here’s how I set it up:
- Plug my GoPro, Lumix, laptop, and phone into the YoloBox Ultra’s HDMI ports.
- Head to the recording panel and choose which sources I want to capture.
- Set the resolution, frame rate, and bitrate for each source (I prefer recording everything in 1080p for now).
- Choose my storage – an external SSD for extra reliability.
- Hit record!
Now, during my live stream, I switch between cameras like a boss. The final program feed is captured as usual, but each HDMI input is also recorded independently.
When I’m done, I just connect the SSD to my computer, and voila! I have individual folders for each source, ready to be used for editing. This is a lifesaver for:
- Creating bonus content: Did you miss a funny reaction from your co-host? No problem, grab it from the isolated recording!
- Fixing mistakes: Mess up a transition? No worries, just use the isolated footage to stitch things together seamlessly.
- Repurposing footage: Want to create a different edit for TikTok? You’ve got all the raw materials right there!
Of course, no tool is perfect. The YoloBox Ultra can only record one input in 4K at a time (the rest are limited to 1080p). I’d love to see them add USB input recording in the future, but hey, even with that limitation, this thing is a beast!
