How do you make a travel vlog more interesting? What should a travel vlog include? Can you use your phone for travel vlogging?
On a business trip, I stayed 2 nights in a mountainside villa with an infinity pool. The experience was so blissful that some commented I was living in heaven.
Anyway, I want to share my experience on video and this is the travel vlog idea I came up with… https://youtu.be/xxMARrabPM8
Travel Vlog Idea
Here are 3 things I did to come up with this travel vlog idea.
1. Tour ASMR style – Firstly, I decided not to do a talking review. I don’t want to use background music as well. So I walked through my room and facilities while capturing ambient natural sounds.
2. Add a little story – Secondly, instead of the usual feature-by-feature presentation, I silently told a story about me waking up in the morning, changing my clothes, and walking around exploring the resort facilities.
3. Shoot on phone – Thirdly, the vlog was recorded on my Samsung Galaxy S10 using the native camera on a 1.2 meter tall tripod. I fixed the exposure on every shot and played back to check before moving to the next scene.
The raw footage was edited on the same phone using Capcut video editing app on the same day. After editing, the final cut was immediately published on Youtube and Facebook from the same phone.
One More Thing
One more thing. Some commented that the video appears seamless like I was walking continuously for 7 minutes till the end.
The trick is to compose every next scene with an object that appeared in the previous scene.
Try This Idea
The fastest way to create a video is one without talking and music. Just assemble and trim the clips.
Remember, I am the one walking and not the camera. So that eliminates shaky shots and makes editing easier.
Try this idea on your next travel vlog and include this link in your video description… https://videolane.com/travel-vlog-idea-hotel-room-tour/
