In my recent Smartphone Video Class, I shared with participants why Note 10+ is better than the iPhone’s and the Huawei’s.
Here are 5 reasons the Samsung Galaxy Note 10+ may be the smartphone with the best video camera I’ve ever seen in 2019.
- Ultra-Wide Camera. The wide-angle lens is the ultimate winning feature. There is no need to rely on a third-party accessory. Definitely missing on iPhones (except the upcoming iPhone 11). Huawei P30 Pro has a better Telephoto Camera though (but something is missing as mentioned in the next point).
- Adobe Premiere Rush. Samsung and Adobe have come together to provide a professional video editing app known as Premiere Rush. I have been using this app and love it for many reasons which I will mention in another post. However, I can’t recommend it because it won’t install in many Android phones, including the Huawei’s.
- MicroSD Card Slot. Now it’s about Note 10 vs Note 10+. Note 10 does not have a micro SD card slot while the Note 10+ has. The ability to put in a memory card from an external camera is important for me. I have been editing client events on the go and transferring footage via card is the fastest way. So better get the 10+ and not the 10.
- Video Bokeh Effect. Nearly every phone has a blur background effect on photography. But when it comes to video recording, the Galaxy Note 10+ can do it. See that Depth sensing camera in the picture. Again, the Depthvision is available on the Note 10+, and not on the Note 10. This is another reason I am excited about it.
- AE/AF Lock Function. If you know what this means, you may think it exists in every good phone… BUT NO! I cannot lock my exposure and focus on my Samsung Galaxy S10! Not even the S10+ that I tested in the shop. What a shame on the S series. If we want to shoot video professionally, we need the AE/AF Lock function.
Then there is the pen that acts as the camera remote control.
Weighing 196g, the Zhiyun Smooth Q2 gimbal can handle it.
Is the Samsung Galaxy Note 10+ a smartphone with the best video camera?
