If you’re into videography, you might want to check out what’s happening at NAB 2025 in Las Vegas.
Viltrox, a company that makes camera gear, is showing off some new products from April 6-9 at the Las Vegas Convention Center. They’ll be at booth SL11010 in the South Hall Lower.
What’s New from Viltrox
Viltrox is bringing out a bunch of new stuff. They’ve got lenses like the AF 35mm F1.2 LAB FE, which works well in low light and gives clear images. This could be handy for night shoots or indoor scenes with dim lighting.
There’s also the AF 85mm F1.4 Pro FE, made for portraits with sharp details and a blurry background. This might work well for interviews.
Another one is the 50mm F2.0 Air lens.
They’re also showing a retro-looking flash called the Vintage Z1 Flash Light, which is small, light, and has a good battery.
On the monitor side, they have the DC-A1 Camera Monitor. It’s a 7-inch touchscreen that’s really bright—2800 nits—and built for filmmakers and photographers. This could make a difference when you’re editing outside or checking shots on location.
Then there’s the DC L1/L2 monitor, also 7 inches, with a wide viewing angle and a frame that adjusts for better viewing.
Talks and Prizes at the Booth
Every day of the show, Viltrox is hosting talks by photographers at their booth.
Here’s the schedule for April 6-8:
- 11:00 AM – 11:45 AM: David Guerrero (Dgphotoholic) will talk about using lenses to create dreamy portraits.
- 1:30 PM – 2:15 PM: Francisco Joel Hernandez (Francisco) will share tips on portrait photography.
- 3:00 PM – 3:45 PM: Daniel Woiwode (@cineharmonia) will cover cinematic and commercial video shots.
After each talk, they’re doing a raffle with prizes like lenses and monitors. On the last day, April 9, there’s one more talk by Francisco at 10:00 AM, followed by a raffle for two monitors.
Why This Matters for Video Creators
NAB is a big event for people who work with video and photography. Viltrox’s new gear could be useful if you’re shooting in tricky lighting or need a solid monitor for editing on the go. The talks might also give you some ideas for your next project.
My Thoughts
I haven’t tried Viltrox gear myself, but I’ve read good things about their lenses. These new products look interesting, especially since they seem to focus on low light and portability—two things I’m always thinking about for shoots. I’m curious to see how they hold up in real projects.
