Have you ever wanted to change the background in a video without using complicated software or expensive equipment? Well, you’re in luck because there’s a simple and free app that can help you do just that. It’s called CapCut and it’s available for both iOS and Android devices.
CapCut is a powerful video editing app that lets you create stunning videos with ease. You can trim, crop, rotate, add filters, stickers, music, transitions, and more. But one of the coolest features of CapCut is the ability to remove the background in a video and replace it with a new one.
This can be useful for many purposes, such as creating fun videos for social media, making educational videos more engaging, or adding some flair to your personal projects. In this blog post, I’ll show you how to change the background in a video using CapCut in just a few simple steps.
Step 1: Open CapCut and Start a New Project
The first thing you need to do is download CapCut from the App Store or Google Play and install it on your device. Once you open the app, you’ll see a plus sign at the top of the screen. Tap on it to start a new project.
Step 2: Select the Recording and Tap on “Add”
Next, you need to select the video that you want to edit. Choose a video from the Gallery.
Step 3: Select the Clip in the Timeline and Choose the “Cutout” Tool
After you add the video to your project, you’ll see it in the timeline at the bottom of the screen. Tap on the clip to select it and then tap on the Cutout icon at the bottom toolbar. This will open the “Cutout” tool, which allows you to remove the background in a video.
Step 4: Tap on “Remove Background”
In the “Cutout” tool, you’ll see a button that says “Remove Background”. Tap on it and wait for a few seconds. CapCut will automatically detect and erase the background in your video. You’ll see a dark background behind your subject.
Step 5: Tap on the Plus Button in the Timeline
Now that you have removed the background in your video, you can add a new one. To do that, tap on the plus button on the right side of the timeline. This will let you choose a new background from your gallery or CapCut’s library of images and videos.
Step 6: Choose a New Background and Tap on “Add”
Browse through the available options and select a new background for your video. Once you find a background that you like, tap on it and then tap on “Add” at the bottom right corner.
Step 7: Select the Clip with No Background and Choose the “Overlay” Command
You’ll see that your new background is added as a separate clip in the timeline. To make it appear behind your subject, you need to use the “Overlay” command. To do that, select the clip with no background and then go to the toolbar at the bottom. Choose “Overlay” from the menu that appears.
Step 8: Drag the Overlay Under the New Background
You’ll see that your clip with no background is now an overlay in the timeline. Drag the overlay under the new background. You can also adjust the size and position of the overlay by pinching and dragging it in the preview panel.
And that’s it! You have successfully removed the background in a video using CapCut and added a new background. You can preview your final result by tapping on the play button at the bottom of the screen. If you’re happy with it, you can save it to your device or share it online by tapping on the export button at the top right corner.
