Bad and Good news for video creators and marketers!
First the bad news…
“Facebook has withdrawn the ability for video creators to embed links into their clips. The call to action [CTA] feature had been popular with broadcasters, who used it as a way to steer users to their own sites. The change in policy was made earlier this month without warning. Experts say the decision is another illustration of the power that Facebook now has over how the public reads and watches the news.” – http://www.bbc.com/news/technology-36586021
The good news… there is another way… 3 ways…
- Burn the call-to-action into your video.
- Write your CTA in the text description.
- Put you CTA in the closed caption.
Some other ways might be to use other video platforms.
- Don’t neglect your YouTube channel.
- Put your video on Twitter.
- Put it on Instagram.
If you know other methods using video to increase website traffic for free, please share.

The App my team has built now lets you add Call-to-Action buttons to your Facebook Page videos. They’re a little different than the old ones, but in my opinion are much better.
If you don’t want to use a 3rd party app, you can always add CTA buttons to your videos using Facebook’s power editor. You can no longer add those using Facebook’s normal interface.
