Blackmagic SDI to HDMI Converter without Power | Unboxing, Setting Up and Testing with ATEM

Really want to go beyond professional? Then go broadcast quality…

I needed an SDI to HDMI converter for an upcoming project.

The project involves the live projection of multiple cameras.

I have everything I need except for one more essential device.

A converter from my broadcast-quality switcher to regular HDMI.

So I got the Blackmagic Design unit from Sim Lim Square.

In this video, I set it up and tested it on the actual equipment.

The project includes:

  1. The Blackmagic Design ATEM Television Studio HD switcher.
  2. The Blackmagic Design SDI to HDMI Micro Converter without PSU.

Back to the question… do you really need broadcast-quality?

My answer: No. Broadcast equipment is rigid and unfriendly.

Watch the video to learn what SDI and HDMI stand for…and BNC.
