In this video, I document how I attach a wireless microphone to my Zhiyun Smooth 4 and other smartphone gimbals.
I also want to find out which gimbal works better for the iPhone and which one for the Android phone.
THE WIRELESS MIC
The external mic I’m going to attach is the Mirfak Audio WE10 Pro.
It’s a dual wireless microphone system with 2 transmitters and 1 receiver.
With 2 microphones, I can use it to record interviews.

Let me show you what we need to attach the receiver to the gimbal.
MIC MOUNT ADAPTER
First, we will need or rather I use the ULANZI PT-3 Triple Cold Shoe Mount Adapter.
Attach the Ulanzi PT-3 to the tripod hole at the bottom of the gimbal.
I can still attach the mini tripod to the adapter. That’s how useful the PT-3 is.
The WE10 Pro receiver comes with a clip size that fits the shoe mount perfectly.
TRS TO TRRS AUDIO CABLE
Next, take the provided TRS to TRRS Cable and plug it into the output of the mic receiver.
RIGHT ANGLE HEADPHONE JACK ADAPTER
I need to connect a right-angle 3.5mm Headphone Jack Adapter, otherwise, my phone will not fit into the Zhiyun Smooth 4 because the tilt motor is blocking the way.
I won’t need the right-angle adapter for the Zhiyun Smooth Q2, the MOZA Mini MX, or the Hohem iSteady X.
ADDITIONAL ADAPTERS REQUIRED
Some Android phones without a headphone jack will need a headphone jack adapter.
iPhones require the Lightning to 3.5mm Headphone Jack Adapter for it to work.
Even better is to have a right-angle lightning connector interface so that I can use it on the Zhiyun Smooth 4, the MOZA Mini-Mi, or the MOZA Mini-P.
OTHER GIMBALS
Two other popular gimbals I did not mention are the DJI OM4 and the Zhiyun Smooth Q3.
MIRFAK AUDIO WE10 PRO FEATURES
The dual mic system has a 30m transmission range, a 3-hour battery life, a MicroSD card recording backup, and works on mobile devices as well as cameras.

I wish there is a battery indicator on the transmitter mic though.
