How to Play “.MTS” Video Files?

“AVCHD is a high-definition digital video format that supports 1080i and 720p with a reasonably small file size. AVCHD files are based on the MPEG4 CODEC. AVCHD video files can be burned to Blu-ray discs and played in compatible devices, such as Blu-ray disc players and the Sony PlayStation3. Various video programs can edit or convert this file format which is generally used by Sony and some Panasonic video cameras.”FILExt

Most Video Editing Software can now playback MTS files, like Sony Vegas Pro and Corel Ulead VideoStudio.

I have, however, discovered one free player that plays back MTS video files rather efficiently.

This free MTS video player is none other than Google Picasa!

Here are 5 steps to Start Playing your MTS Video Files.

  1. Go to Google Picasa.
  2. Download Google Picasa.
  3. Install Google Picasa.
  4. Let Google Picasa search your hard drive for media files (photos and videos).
  5. Play your MTS video files.

For Mac users, you will need the lastest Macs with Intel Processors.

Enjoy!

the solution, bueno la pongo en español porque mi ingles es malo, en el VLC selecciones Herramientas, luego en el icono de video y luego en la seccion de video, en desentralizado=activar y en modo=descartar, and you can play the .mts files correctly.
