VideoLane.com successfully moved to a new web hosting company, BlueHost.com.

Barely a week in BlueHost and I want thank them for making it so easy to build a website all by myself.

I decided to abandon the previous web hosting company because of poor user interface, no backups available, not enough security measures and incompatibility with many scripts.

I have used many other web hosting companies and have discovered that having big brand names does not mean they can provide good web hosting service.

So why am I so happy with BlueHost?

#1: It was quick and extremely easy to transfer my existing VideoLane.com domain over. I did it in half a day.  Though they promised to do it in 24 hours.

#2: It was super simple to set up scripts like WordPress and Joomla.  They have this application called Simple Scripts that  can help automatically install the Content Management Software (CMS) of your choice.

#3: The access speed is obviously faster.  That is not common from a webhosting service that is so affordable.

One week of usage and I have enjoyed these 3 benefits.  I will find out more goodies when time comes.

Update 13 February 2009: “FTP”

Inside BlueHost webhosting Control Panel, othwise known as cPanel, it has everything you need to run a website from ftp to analysis.

I just used the built-in online ftp function and was impressed by the upload speed.

The cPanel gives you more than 2 ways to upload files.

I successfully uploaded 6 files at a time using the File Manager.

Then there is an Unlimited FTP where I can upload huge files more than 50MB.
